The evening begins with the elegance of two Strausses, from the beloved Blue Danube to the sumptuous waltzes of Der Rosenkavalier. Violinist Lynn Kuo performs the world premiere of Felipe Téllez's Violin Concerto, co-commissioned by the Oakville Symphony.

The concert culminates in Florence Price's Symphony No. 4, presented here in the first performance by a Canadian orchestra — a landmark work blending the symphonic tradition with African-American musical heritage.
