Introduction to Painting with Wayne Moore

This introductory painting course is designed to provide students with foundation skills for rendering the subject with paint. Topics include: understanding value, the properties of paint, colour mixing & methods of application, developing form and volume through line, tone, texture and colour.

Students will choose their own subject matter, create a value painting and a limited colour painting. Preparation for the first class: bring the painting supplies you have for acrylic painting. All supplies and tools will be discussed in the first class.

Bring a colour photo of subject matter that you may be interested in painting, as well as a black and white copy of the same subject. Bring a small sketchbook and an HP pencil.
