Oak Park Perennial Planting
Reported
Join Oakvillegreen Conservation for a morning of planting native wildflowers and shrubs at our beautiful Butterfly Wing Garden at Oak Park. Together, we’ll be adding native plants including: spotted bee balm, nodding onion, Kalm’s St. John’s-wort, fragrant sumac, and sweet fern.
About the Garden: Nestled beside Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House and overlooking the beautiful Oak Park ponds, our pollinator garden is a naturalized oasis enjoyed by park-goers, neighbours, and Wellspring visitors. Planted in two phases beginning in 2018, the garden was designed in the shape of two butterfly wings.
Today, it’s a colourful space for pollinators, park visitors, and the community to enjoy. Learn more about our native pollinator gardens across Oakville, here: www.oakvillegreen.org/pollinator-gardens .
