Bill Wood, a career musician, vocalist,songwriter and recording artist (Eye Eye, Bill Wood and the Woodies, Bill Wood and Burke Carroll, Bill Wood and Chris Bennett) rarely performs covertunes, but the music of Williams (aka the Hillbilly Shakespeare) holds a special place in his heart, as it does in the hearts of millions of others.

When he brought the idea to fellow County artist, legendary guitarist Johnny G.Mazzei (Whoa Nelly, Jerry Foster, The Cliff Divers, GT Harris and the Gunslingers, The Jeremiahs) the deal was sealed.

Soon enough, the Hankin’ Out concept was broadened to include the music of other historic Hanks—including Hank Snow and Hank Thompson.
