Bankswallow & First We Live

BankSwallow is a progressive rock band from the GTA, who combine diverse post-rock and world influences. Their name, while deriving from a common ravine-dwelling swallow in the Toronto area, also evokes many of the themes of their socially and politically oriented music.

Among other things, they critique the financialization and commodification of everyday life, war, techno-feudalism and the subjugation of working people to the whims and surveillance of big tech, and the rise of the ultra-rich autocrats.

Their fourth album, “Underwater”, released in December to massive success, follows on from their first three albums: “Fake World” (2022), “Smooth Talker” (2021), and “Bank Swallow” (2020).

First We LiveDriven by honest songwriting and a gritty focused energy, First We Live is an alt-prog band from Ontario that creates a visceral sonic landscape that balances heavy tension with striking vulnerability, like a massive ship breaking apart. We may die, but First We Live.
