Never Get Lost Again: Intro to Orienteering and Map Reading
Learn to navigate with a map and compass in this hands-on outdoor course. No experience needed. In one half-day, participants move from the basics of finding north to confidently navigating with a topographic map and compass on a real orienteering challenge.
This is not a classroom lecture. The course is split into two parts: learn the fundamentals, then immediately apply them in the field. Ideal for hikers wanting to move beyond GPS apps, Scout leaders building their program, or anyone seeking confidence navigating the backcountry.
The course takes place at Sixteen Hallow in Lions Valley, a deep glacial valley carved by Sixteen Mile Creek where the suburban rush melts away.
