World of Threads Festival 2026
World of Threads Festival π§΅ showcases contemporary fibre and textile art from around the world, featuring 192 artists from 22 countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, CuraΓ§ao, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, France, Hungary, India, Israel, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, and the USA.
The festival takes over the entire Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, with hundreds of art pieces on display across multiple galleries. The main exhibition, "Water Stories," occupies the Main Gallery and adjoining corridor gallery. Five additional group shows explore specific themes: "Across Time: Heritage and Tradition," "Nature Reclaimed," "In the Round," "War and Displacement," and "Cat Walk IV" (featuring fashion, wearable art, clothing, and accessories). The festival also includes 44 solo shows, 19 installations, and 48 artists presenting single pieces.
Admission is free. Multi-day visits are recommended to fully experience the scope of the event.
