Valleyridge Tree Planting

Attendees are invited to plant native trees and shrubs at Valleyridge Park, an ecologically important area within the 14 Mile Creek watershed. Since 2022, the 14 Mile Creek extension in Oakville has been designated as part of Ontario's Greenbelt as an Urban River Valley, recognized for its ecological significance.

The planting will proceed rain or shine. High school students will receive volunteer hours for participation.

Free on-site parking is available; please observe all signage. Carpooling to the site is encouraged.

This restoration project is a partnership between the organizers, Green Communities Canada, and Trees for Life, working to increase local biodiversity, enhance the urban tree canopy, and create bird-friendly habitats. The event is made possible in part by support from the Oakville Community Foundation's Urban Forest Fund.

Those unable to attend can support the project by gifting a tree.
