Advance Voting Is Open in Oakville Until October 18
Oakville voters do not have to wait for October 26. Advance voting is open now, on October 7 to 10 and October 13 to 18, and during the advance period you can vote at any advance location in town, not only the one in your ward.
Oakville Town Hall at 1225 Trafalgar Road is open every advance voting day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exception is October 14, when Town Hall stays open until 8 p.m. Accessible voting equipment is available there through the advance period and again on voting day.
Community locations open on three of those dates, October 10, 14 and 17, among them the Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre for Seniors at 1565 Old Lakeshore Road West. Hours match Town Hall, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., running to 8 p.m. on October 14. The Town's Where to Vote page carries the full list of locations.
On election day, October 26, polls run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and you vote at a location in your own ward, which your voter notice lists. If you need to be added to the voters' list or change your address, bring identification: an Ontario driver's licence, an Ontario photo card, or a current utility bill, bank statement or insurance policy. The Town's Know Before You Vote page lists what counts, and who is running in your ward is on the Town's candidate list and ward map.
If you cannot get to a poll
Oakville also runs proxy voting, curbside voting at your vehicle, and home visits for voters with medical conditions or mobility limitations. Home visits have to be arranged by October 18, by calling 905-815-6015 or emailing elections@oakville.ca.
