A Honda Indy Race Car Is Sitting on Four Porcelain Teacups in Downtown Oakville
A Honda Indy race car is parked in Oakville Towne Square right now, and the entire car is resting on four porcelain teacups.
There is no trick to it. Herend, the Hungarian porcelain house that makes the cups, says nothing else is holding the car up. The display is free, no ticket or registration needed, and it is open Friday and Saturday from 10am to 5pm.
Herend has been making porcelain in the village of the same name since 1826, so 2026 is its 200th year. Every piece is shaped and painted by hand. You can buy it in Oakville a block down Lakeshore Road at Nicetys, the kitchen store that put the display together with Herend Canada.
There is a draw attached to it too. Register in person with a Nicetys rep at the display and you are entered to win a pair of two-day passes to the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy, which moved from Toronto to Markham this year and runs August 14 to 16.
