Oak Park Fall Fair Returns to Oakville on September 12
The Oak Park Fall Fair is back on Saturday, September 12, running from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre on Sawgrass Drive. Admission is free.
The centre and its grounds fill up for the day with seven inflatables, interactive activities and exhibits, and the night ends with a movie under the stars. This year's screening is Toy Story 5.
Food is the part that costs something. BBQ meal tickets are $8 online and come with a hot dog (veggie and halal options are available), salad, nachos and a cookie. Online bidding on the silent auction, which has close to 200 prizes this year, is already open.
The fair is the neighbourhood centre's only fundraising event, and the money pays for its programs. Last year's fair raised more than $66,000, and the centre says the day draws over 4,000 people. It has also picked up a Platinum Readers Choice Award for best festival.
If you go
Saturday, September 12, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Oak Park Neighbourhood Centre, 2200 Sawgrass Drive. Free to get in, with $8 BBQ meal tickets sold online ahead of time.
Local businesses still have a way in as well. The centre is taking exhibitor applications and silent auction donations through its website, and exhibitor costs go up the closer it gets to the fair.
