Shake Shack Is Opening in North Oakville
The plaza southwest of Dundas Street and Trafalgar Road is getting a Shake Shack. The New York burger chain confirmed the north Oakville location in an August 17 press release, listing the address as 275 Hays Blvd and an opening planned for later this year.
Oakville is one of three Ontario locations announced at once. Burlington is getting one at 4511 Dundas Street, and London is getting one at 3275 Wonderland Road South that will be the first Shake Shack in Ontario with a drive-thru. The chain already runs eight locations in Toronto and one in Calgary.
"We're thrilled to expand Shake Shack's presence across Ontario, bringing our signature hospitality, quality ingredients and made-to-order favourites to more communities," said Billy Richmond, Business Director of Shake Shack Canada. "Oakville, Burlington and London represent exciting milestones in our Canadian growth journey."
The menu is the one the chain built its name on: Angus beef burgers, the Veggie Shack made from vegetables and grains, crispy whole white meat chicken sandwiches, crinkle-cut fries, hand-spun shakes and frozen custards. Shake Shack says every location uses 100 per cent premium Canadian ingredients.
One correction worth noting if you saw the news early: the first version of the announcement put the Oakville site at Dundas and Neyagawa. That was fixed the same afternoon, and Hays Boulevard is the right address.
