Oakville Transit Adds Stops and a New School Route September 6
Oakville Transit riders get more stops, a new school route and a new connection point starting September 6, when the next round of service changes takes effect.
Route 1 on Trafalgar improves access to downtown Oakville by way of Kerr Street while keeping its current frequency. Routes 14 and 14A on Lakeshore West bring back Reynolds Street coverage and connect the Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre and the Central Branch library to the network, along with more service on Lakeshore Road West. Route 37 in Glenorchy picks up King's Christian Collegiate with trips timed around the school day.
Students in the north end get a route of their own. The new Route 80 runs to Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School, linking North Oakville riders directly to the school.
The Park & Ride becomes a hub
The Highway 407 and Bronte Road Park & Ride turns into a destination hub for the Palermo West and Bronte Creek Ride On-Demand zone. With that link in place, the network connects to every GO Transit bus that serves Oakville.
The changes came out of the town's annual service planning review and sit inside Oakville Transit's five-year business plan for 2025 to 2029, which aims to increase service frequency, support the town's growth and adapt to the needs of the community.
Check before the first trip
Everything starts September 6, so riders on routes 1, 14, 14A and 37 should look at the updated timetable before heading out that week. Route 80 is brand new, and Ride On-Demand trips in Palermo West and Bronte Creek now run to the Highway 407 and Bronte Road Park & Ride.
