How to Check You Are on Oakville's Voters' List Before October 26

The letter telling you when and where to vote in the October 26 municipal election gets mailed from the voters' list. If the name or address on that list is out of date, so is the notice.

The Town of Oakville has an online tool, Am I On the List, that shows how your information appears and lets you fix it. You can confirm what is there, add your name if it is missing, or update your address if you have moved. Online updates require government-issued identification.

The window to update through Elections Ontario's Register to Vote page closed on August 12, so changes now go directly through the Town. Anyone who wants help, has questions, or would rather make the change in person can call the Clerk's Department at 905-815-6015.

Two situations are worth a second look. Students living away from home may be eligible to vote both in the municipality where they attend school and in the one they consider their permanent home, so the list should reflect both addresses. And your school support designation, which decides whose school board trustee candidates appear on your ballot, sits on your Property Assessment Notice and is changed through MPAC rather than the Town.
