Cyber Security for Female Entrepreneurs

This workshop teaches women how to identify cyber threats, protect business data, and strengthen cybersecurity practices. It is designed for small business owners and staff seeking to understand and manage growing cybersecurity risks.

Participants will learn about common threats including phishing, ransomware, malware, and social engineering. The workshop covers how to identify vulnerabilities within business operations, recognize suspicious activity, and respond effectively. Through practical examples and safe practices, attendees will gain skills to protect business systems, devices, data, and online accounts.

The curriculum includes essential cybersecurity fundamentals and strategies for fostering a culture of security within an organization. By the end of the workshop, participants will understand the impacts of cyber incidents and be equipped to safeguard their business in an increasingly digital environment.

The facilitator is Prerna Seth, Cybersecurity & Data Management Program Co-Manager at The Women's Centre of Halton. Prerna helps build digital confidence in individuals and communities. With an engineering background, an MBA, and a Diploma Certification in Cybersecurity Analytics & Cloud Operations from York University, she brings both technical depth and strategic perspective to the workshop.
