Bake & Connect: Sourdough Bread-Making Workshop 🍞

Join a 3-hour demonstration-style sourdough workshop exploring the art and science of bread-making. The instructor will walk through the entire process step-by-step, from caring for your starter and activating it to preparing dough and creating sourdough treats. Attendees will learn techniques to take home, whether completely new to sourdough or already experimenting in the kitchen. Each participant receives a sourdough recipe sheet and their own sourdough starter to continue baking at home.

Tastings & Refreshments

Fresh sourdough bread will be paired with dips including hummus and other finger foods. Freshly baked sourdough scones accompany freshly brewed Colombian coffee, with information about quality coffee beans available for purchase. Special guest Monica from Elixir Vitae will introduce premium olive oil, explaining the three key elements of authentic extra virgin olive oil, what to look for when purchasing, and how to recognize quality. A tasting with fresh bread is included, and olive oil is available for purchase. A handy take-home reference sheet on olive oil is provided. Alcoholic beverages are available for purchase at an additional cost.

Local Shopping

Taste of Colombia is filled with products from local artists, makers, and small businesses — from thoughtful gifts to unique finds and clutter-free products. Attendees are invited to browse, support local entrepreneurs, and find meaningful gifts.

What to Bring & Logistics

Bring a notebook and pen if you'd like to jot down extra notes. Street parking is available nearby, though it may take a few minutes to find a spot. Additional parking is at the back of the building, accessible from Marine Drive with a back entrance leading directly into the café. Please allow extra time for parking to arrive on time.
