Dangerous Vacancies

Dangerous Vacancies is a live performance by choreographer and playwright Sid Ryan Eilers (they/them), created and performed with the ensemble of EILERS Dance Theatre. The work traces what unfolds when everything falls away, exploring grief, bliss, and aliveness through movement and text. Like stars returning to a darkened sky, the performance listens for the hum of continuing.

EILERS Dance Theatre, founded in 2024, creates interdisciplinary, story-driven work rooted in queer and gender-expansive embodiment and transformation. The company centres queer, trans, and gender-expansive voices, bringing together choreography, voice, music, and scenography to create physically rigorous, emotionally charged, and visually distinct performances. The work is grounded in Eilers' 25 years across dance, theatre, and text-based creation.

In these performances, the body holds memory, transformation is lived in real time, and personal and collective histories surface through movement and text. Based in Toronto, the company is touring nationally.
