Oakville Museum Hosts One Last Glow Pumpkin Parade on November 1

A carved pumpkin takes real work and then gets one night on the porch. The Oakville Museum is giving yours a second outing: bring it to the grounds of Erchless Estate on Sunday, November 1 and set it out with everyone else's.

One Last Glow runs between 5 and 7 p.m., as dusk falls over the museum grounds. The event is walking among the lit faces and seeing what the rest of Oakville carved, which is plenty. Costumes are encouraged if Halloween went by too fast.

The parade closes out Haunted Happenings, the museum's October run of guided tours through the rooms of Erchless Estate. Those tours covered where the familiar pieces of the season came from: Victorian mourning customs, fortune telling, witches and jack-o-lanterns, cats and bats, and the superstitions that outlasted all of them.

Bring the pumpkin and a warm coat. The museum lists its programs and events on the Oakville Museum page.
