Rocky Horror Picture Show Screens Three Times at Film.ca Cinemas in Oakville

Film.ca is running The Rocky Horror Picture Show three times over Halloween weekend, and nobody is expected to sit quietly through it. The Oakville theatre has tickets on sale now for Friday, October 30 at 9:30 p.m., Saturday, October 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 1 at 4 p.m.

Past years ran on Halloween alone and sold out, so the theatre stretched it to three days this time.

The participation kit is the part to sort out before you go. Each one holds a handful of rice, newspaper, dry toast, flashlights or glowsticks, noisemakers, rubber gloves, bells, a party hat, playing cards and a water sprayer. The sprayer has to be empty when you walk in, and you fill it at the sink inside. Kits and tote bundles can be pre-ordered and collected at the snack bar on the day of your show, and 50th anniversary merch including drink tumblers and popcorn tins is on sale too.

The banned list runs longer: alcohol, eggs, prunes, hot dogs, toilet paper, confetti, lighters and supersoakers, plus any food other than that handful of rice and the dry toast. Bags, jackets and pockets can be searched at the door, staff can confiscate props, and no cameras or recording are allowed once the film is on the screen.
