Fire Safety Storytime

Fire Safety Storytime 🚒 The Oakville Public Library is hosting a fire safety storytime led by a member of the Oakville Fire Department. Children will hear a story read by a firefighter and meet Blaze the dragon. After storytime, attendees head outside for a live demonstration of firefighter gear, a close-up look at the fire truck, and a quick tour of the cab. Events are held at various library branches at various times.

Outdoor Mommy&Me Pilates+Yoga

Mommy & Me Outdoor Pilates + Yoga 🧘‍♀️ A 45-minute pilates and yoga fusion class held all summer in a fenced backyard in Oakville. Fresh air, a sweaty workout, and coffee included with your ticket. Oakville Wind Orchestra Sounds of Summer

The Oakville Wind Orchestra, Canada's oldest community concert band, presents six free, family-friendly concerts this summer. Attendees are invited to enjoy toe-tapping music spanning the ages, performed under the gazebo at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. Concerts are held at 7 PM on July 7, 14, 21, and 28, and August 4 and 11.

Summer Splash

Families are invited to meet fire crews, explore fire trucks, and participate in hands-on activities while learning practical fire prevention and safety tips. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site. Longo's Southeast Oakville and Panago Pizza (Cornwall Road) are providing food, and Fortinos South Oakville is providing beverages. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Oakville and Milton. In case of rain or severe weather, the event will be held the next day from 6–8 p.m.

Boat Cruise on the Grand River 🚤 Join a day-long cruise on Friday, August 21st. The boat features an enclosed dining room, a promenade deck with seating, and wheelchair-accessible washroom facilities. All guests receive a full meal service with live Blazing Fiddle Show entertainment. The menu includes complimentary refreshments upon arrival (coffee, tea, selection of muffins), home-baked bread, garden salad with choice of dressing, and a choice of main courses: slow-cooked roast beef and gravy, baked boneless chicken breast with potatoes and vegetables, or Moroccan vegetable bean soup with vegetable samosa and rice (vegan). Dessert options are Apple Crumble Pie, Classic Cheesecake, or Gluten-Free Brownie. Tea, coffee, and soft drinks are included. Meals are pre-plated and served to your table. Gluten-free and vegan options are available but must be pre-ordered. Bar service offering beer, wine, and basic mixed drinks is available on board. Payment options: cash, credit, or debit.
