Oakville Is Recruiting Residents for Its Advisory Committees and Boards
Marking a ballot on October 26 was not the last say residents get in how Oakville runs. The Town is looking for people to serve on the advisory committees and boards that feed into council decisions, and applications for the 2026-2030 term of council close at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 20.
Five bodies are currently seeking volunteers: the Accessibility Advisory Committee, the Committee of Adjustment, the Heritage Oakville Advisory Committee, the Community Spirit Awards Selection Committee, and the Oakville Public Library Board.
Applicants have to live in Oakville, unless a particular committee's terms of reference say otherwise. The Town's listing is open to residents of all abilities and asks for people willing to share their expertise and experience on matters that affect the community, with an eye on members who will strengthen the diversity of the group.
Each vacancy is posted with its own description and application form, so it is worth reading the terms of reference before applying. Questions about how appointments are made go to the Town Clerk's department.
How to apply
Applications must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2026. Vacancies and application forms are listed on the Town's advisory committees and boards page. For questions, contact the Town Clerk's department at 905-815-6015 or townclerk@oakville.ca.
