Oakvillegreen maintains pollinator patches across Oakville and welcomes volunteers to help with mulching, weeding, and planting. Garden sites are tended on a rotating weekly basis. Volunteer sessions are held on Tuesdays. Interested volunteers can sign up for one session or several. Walk & Talk History

Walk & Talk History is a guided tour of Bronte Village led by historian Maryanne Mason. Participants will hear stories of the people and places that have shaped the neighbourhood. Summer Splash

Families are invited to meet fire crews, explore fire trucks, and participate in hands-on activities while learning practical fire prevention and safety tips. Food and beverages will be available for purchase on site. Longo's Southeast Oakville and Panago Pizza (Cornwall Road) are providing food, and Fortinos South Oakville is providing beverages. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Oakville and Milton. In case of rain or severe weather, the event will be held the next day from 6–8 p.m.

Bronte Lake Notes 2026

Bronte Lake Notes 🎵 returns to the Sails Stage on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. in Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park. A Large Slow River: Janet Cardiff’s Audio Walk in Gairloch Gardens

Oakville Galleries presents Janet Cardiff's immersive outdoor audio walk, A Large Slow River, at Gairloch Gardens. Commissioned in 1999 and recorded live on-site, the work responds directly to the landscape, inviting visitors to slow down, observe, and listen closely to a captivating sensory experience. Drop in anytime between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM. MP3s are provided; headphones and audio equipment are available to borrow from the front desk, or bring your own (Bluetooth-compatible). After the walk, visitors are welcome to linger in the gardens, purchase light refreshments and bites from local vendor Oh Fresca Inc., and visit the current exhibition Ali Cherri: To Fall Patiently. The outdoor audio walk includes pathways, garden terrain, and stairs. Visitors with mobility concerns are encouraged to contact Oakville Galleries in advance to discuss possible accommodations.

Oakville’s Black History in Bronte: Bike Tour

In partnership with the Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton, Oakville Museum, and the Bronte Historical Society, the Oakville Public Library is hosting a 1.5-hour guided bike tour of Bronte Harbour exploring sites related to Oakville's Black History. Participants should bring their own bike; strollers and chariots are welcome for younger children. Meet at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre, 2302 Bridge Road, Oakville. The tour is weather permitting.

Art in the Park 2026

Art in the Park 🎨 has been Oakville's premier art event since 1965, when the Oakville Art Society founded it to promote local artists and artisans. The show now draws thousands of visitors to the Bronte waterfront, featuring more than 175 artists and artisans from across the country. Every artistic medium is represented: traditional oil, acrylic, and watercolour paintings, glass, ceramics, photography, mixed media, sculptures, and fine jewellery. Visitors can meet the artists directly and learn about the works they have created.

Mindful Women's Walking Group

Attendees are invited to join a 45-minute guided mindful walk designed to slow down, connect with nature, and enjoy the outdoors. The walk begins at the Oakville office, where Social Service Worker students will welcome participants before heading out together to Hopedale Park. During the walk, the group will pause to notice the beauty around them — feeling the sunshine, listening to the birds, noticing the trees, and connecting with nature through their senses. After returning to the Centre, participants will enjoy coffee, tea, and conversation in a warm and welcoming environment. Open to everyone, whether looking to relax, connect with others, or simply enjoy fresh air.

Movies in the Park 2026 brings free outdoor film screenings to Town parks throughout August. Attendees are invited to bring a picnic blanket and snacks, arrive early for a good viewing spot, and enjoy family-friendly activities. Summer Sweat brings outdoor fitness classes to Towne Square every Saturday morning at 9 AM throughout the summer. Local fitness businesses lead sessions ranging from Pilates flows to high-energy spin, welcoming participants of all fitness levels. Scheduled classes include Via Pilates on July 25, Hot Yoga & Pilates on August 15, D Studios on August 22, and Two Sisters Pilates on August 29. Registration links are available for each session.
