Free Sunset Concert Series Starts 🎶

Erchless Estate at 8 Navy Street

Erchless Estate begins hosting it’s Sunset Socials Music Series this Thursday, a series of free outdoor concerts on its historic grounds. This week’s opening performance features swing music from the Golden Age of Jazz. Alex Pangman, violinist Drew Jurecka, and guitarist Nathan Hiltz will be kicking off this series.

Two more shows follow in July 16th and August 20th, featuring 1930s Jazz Manouche and bluegrass. Concerts run 7 to 8 p.m., rain or shine, and the museum stays open until 9 p.m. on event nights.

The lakefront estate is at 8 Navy Street in Lakeside Park. Bring a chair or blanket, invite your friends and family, and enjoy some music with a view!

New Bike Path for Lakeshore 🚴

The town is planning a new multi-use path along Lakeshore Road East from Allan Street to Winston Churchill Boulevard, designed to make walking, cycling, and rolling safer and more connected.

A public information session is set for Tuesday, June 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the South Atrium at Oakville Town Hall, where residents can review the proposed design and ask questions.

The path would run the full length of the project area, part of a broader push to improve active transportation infrastructure across town.

Oakville's Cloutier Goes First Overall 🏆

David Pickering @_picks_pics

Dreams really do come true for Kane Cloutier, an Oakville hockey player who was selected first overall by the Oshawa Generals in the OHL Priority Selection on June 12th.

Cloutier becomes the third player from Oakville to be taken first overall in the OHL Draft this decade, following Michael Misa in 2022 and Ethan Belchetz in 2024. He was called to the stage by fellow Oakville native John Tavares, who was also picked first overall by the Generals 21 years ago.

This past season, Cloutier scored 32 goals and racked up 58 points in 33 games with the Vaughan Kings, then added 11 points in four games at the OHL Cup tournament. Elite Prospects had him projected as the top pick going into the draft. A huge congrats to the local star.

Lions Cruze Night Rolls Weekly 🏁

Dozens of vintage cars lined up at Oakville Place Mall last week for the Oakville Lions Club's weekly Cruze Night. The summer series runs every Wednesday evening, giving residents a rotating look at everything from Mustang GTs to classic Cadillacs.

The event doubles as a fundraiser. Through 50/50 tickets, donations, and sponsorships, the club raises money for local charities while giving car owners a chance to show off their rides. Some vehicles were listed for sale, but most were there for the crowd to admire.

The Wednesday night series continues throughout the summer at Oakville Place, so there are plenty more chances to catch the show.
