Together With Burloak Indoor Golf!

Hey Oakville 👋

Sean Casey here, founder of Burloak Indoor Golf.

When I opened this place, the goal was to create one of Canada’s most complete one-stop shops for indoor golf. A space built for performance, but just as much for hanging out and having fun. We’ve got 12 TrackMan simulators, a full short game area, pool tables, dart boards, a licensed restaurant, a full pro shop with fittings and repairs, plus on-site rehab, all supported by one of the largest teams of PGA professionals in the country.

The space is also available for private bookings and events, and it’s been a great fit for birthday parties, corporate events, team socials, and group nights out where people can golf, eat, drink, and hang out all in one place.

We offer various options depending on what you’re looking for, from renting out the entire facility to booking a dedicated section for your group.

If you’re an Oakville Digest reader, I’d love for you to experience it yourself. Send me a message at [email protected] with what event you would like to host, mention you were sent from the newsletter, and I’ll take $100 off your event booking.

🎬 TV Drama 'Doc' Spotted Filming on Kerr

Kerr Street Café had some unexpected company Monday morning as film crews transformed the block outside into a working set. Large lights, cameras, and crew vehicles lined the sidewalk, catching the attention of those walking by. After a bit of digging, reddit users confirmed the shoot was for Doc Season 2, the medical drama starring Molly Parker that airs on Fox.

The show follows Dr. Amy Larsen, a brilliant physician forced to start over after a brain injury erases eight years of her memory. With her former role gone and relationships fractured, she must navigate life as a medical intern while trying to reconnect with the people and career she lost. The first 10 episodes of Season 2 have already aired, and this latest shoot in Oakville appears to be part of the season’s second half.

💪 Oakville’s Newest Pilates Studio

A new Pilates-inspired fitness studio is opening in Oakville on February 14 at 297 Oak Walk Drive. STRONG Pilates, a concept that started in Australia, blends cardio and strength training into 45-minute, low-impact workouts using custom “Rowformer” and “Bikeformer” machines. It’s a different take on Reformer Pilates, with rowing or cycling built into each session.

The studio is part of a growing trend toward efficient, full-body workouts that aim to challenge without overloading. With more locations opening across Canada, STRONG Pilates is the latest addition to Oakville’s expanding boutique fitness scene.

🎮 Terminally Ill Oakville Fan Gets GTA 6 Preview

Rockstar Games, the studio behind the Grand Theft Auto series, appears to have responded to a deeply personal request from an Oakville-area family. Anthony Armstrong, a Ubisoft Toronto employee, shared on LinkedIn that his terminally ill family member, a lifelong fan, might not live to see the next game’s release. He asked if Rockstar could arrange a private play session at their nearby Oakville studio, later posting that they had received “great news” after speaking with the company.

For those unfamiliar, Grand Theft Auto is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, known for its expansive open-world settings, cinematic storytelling, and major cultural impact. The upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI has been highly anticipated and repeatedly delayed, moving from an initial 2025 window to May 2026, and now to November 19, 2026. While Rockstar has not confirmed any details, fans believe the response reflects a moment of compassion from the studio.

🏀 Canada’s Next Basketball Star, From Oakville

At just 16, Isaiah Hamilton is already being called one of the best basketball prospects Canada has seen in years. The Oakville native made headlines with a viral between-the-legs dunk at the FIBA U16 AmeriCup and has since become a rising figure on the international stage. Now standing at six-foot-eight, Hamilton plays at Crestwood Prep and has racked up NCAA offers from top schools like Alabama and Syracuse.

His Dunk:

Instagram post

With highlight-reel plays and 16,000 social media followers, Hamilton is growing up in the spotlight while staying grounded with strong support from his family. His father Emmett, mindful of the pressure that comes with early fame, keeps him focused on more than just basketball. Whether it’s swimming at the cottage or facing NBA stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at summer camps, Hamilton’s path is unfolding quickly. But as he puts it, “I’ve done a lot, but I haven’t done anything yet.”

The Halton Naval Vets hall was filled over the weekend as vinyl enthusiasts packed the space for a lively pop-up record sale. The event, organized by Larry Guarascea, is one of several he hosts throughout the year.
