Lyla’s House is expanding its specialty coffee and wine bar concept to Oakville this April with a new location at 326 Kerr Street. The founder Alex, who transitioned from a career in the corporate world and photography, decided to model the business as a "third place" designed to bridge the gap between home and work.

Oakville marks the brand’s third location, joining its already established spots in Georgetown and Toronto. Alex states that the focus is to continue creating intentional, authentic spaces through carefully selected offerings and design.

Roman is a 12 week old Presa Canario and Labrador Retriever mix who recently arrived in Oakville. This friendly little guy is full of puppy charm, playful energy, and curiosity about the world. He is socialized, food motivated, and eager to learn, though not house trained yet.

Roman would thrive in a family ready for the fun and responsibility of raising a puppy, including ongoing training. He could likely live with other pets after proper introductions. If you are ready for puppy kisses and plenty of playtime, Roman is ready to grow up right here in Oakville.

Nearly 400 guests filled the Oakville Conference Centre on Feb. 21 for a Venetian themed masquerade in support of Halton Women's Place. The annual gala, running more than 35 years, featured live music from The Doubts, auctions, themed cocktails, and a four course dinner, all raising funds for local shelters and outreach programs.

Director Carmela Bozzo said the elegant carnival theme mixed fun with purpose, spotlighting the mission to end violence against women and children. A survivor’s powerful story reminded guests why their generosity matters, as masks came off and Oakville’s compassion took centre stage.
