Family Doctor Finder 🩺
A Halton nurse has launched a free website to help people find family doctors who are actually accepting new patients.
Kevin Dzisah, a 26-year-old registered nurse who works with vulnerable residents in Oakville, created the site after seeing how difficult it is for many people to access primary care.
The platform, called CareFinders, lists clinics in Oakville, Burlington, Milton and Halton Hills that are currently taking new patients. It includes the clinic address, contact information and doctors available.
Dzisah updates the site every one to two weeks to keep the information current.
The long-term goal is to expand the platform across Ontario and eventually build a mobile app to make finding a family doctor easier.
Oakville Market Update 🏠
Oakville’s housing market has cooled quite a bit since the peak a few years ago, and the latest numbers show the shift is still being felt.
The average home price in town reached about $1.86 million in March 2022. As of February 2026, that average sits just under $1.33 million.
Sales have slowed too. Oakville recorded 4,331 home sales in 2021, but that dropped to 2,491 in 2025.
Different home types have seen different changes. Detached homes are down about 21 per cent from their peak, while apartment-style condos averaged about $600,000 in February 2026 representing about a 55 percent drop.
Overall, the market today looks a lot calmer than it did during the 2022 surge.

OT Wins Provincial Title 🏐
A big win for Oakville this week.
The Oakville Trafalgar Red Devils girls volleyball team captured the OFSAA provincial championship on March 11 in Windsor, finishing off a dominant season with a gold medal.
Oakville Trafalgar defeated St. Anne’s three sets to one in the final. One of the most intense moments came in the third set, where the Red Devils edged out a tight 30–28 win before closing the match 25–15 in the fourth.
The team finished the season with an impressive 31–1 record and spent most of the year at the top of their league.
Coach Wendy Malloch praised the team’s chemistry, energy and support for one another throughout the season.
Movie Day Fundraiser 🎬
A simple trip to the movies in Oakville ended up supporting an important local cause. Film.ca Cinemas hosted volunteers from the Women’s Centre of Halton last Wednesday for a special fundraiser, donating 10 per cent of all ticket and concession sales from the day to the organization.
The Women’s Centre has been part of the community since 1989. What started as support for women leaving shelters has grown into a place where women can connect, get guidance and build new skills.
Today the centre offers programs like peer support, life skills coaching and mental health counselling, helping women across Halton find stability and new opportunities.
