🔑 On The Market
Check out this listing from Dan Cooper Group at 44 Iverhuron:
This five-bedroom River Oaks home offers rare space with approx. 2,800 sq ft above grade plus a finished basement. Highlights include a renovated granite kitchen, spacious family room with wood-burning fireplace, main-floor laundry, and five true bedrooms upstairs, led by an oversized primary suite with spa-style ensuite.
The finished lower level adds rec space and a gas fireplace, while the private backyard steals the show with a heated saltwater pool, natural stone patios, and mature landscaping. A rare combination in River Oaks, perfect for growing families who want space inside and resort-style living outside.
What would you guess this home is listed for?

📚 The New Central Branch Library

Rendering of new library from Town of Oakville
Downtown Oakville is set for a big change as the former Canada Post building at 193 Church St. is transformed into the town’s new Central Library branch. The plan keeps the building’s historic street-facing walls but rebuilds parts of the interior, blending heritage character with bright, modern spaces and a welcoming plaza along Church Street.
When it opens in 2028, the new branch will replace the aging Navy Street location with more room to read, study, gather, and create. Expect dedicated kids and teen areas, event space, outdoor terraces, and flexible rooms that can grow with the community.
🎨 Halton Seeks Culture Days Artists
Culture Days is the annual celebration that turns libraries, community centres, and public spaces into hands-on hubs for art and creativity. This fall, Oakville is teaming up with Burlington, Milton, and Halton Hills to bring that energy back, and they are now inviting artists to help shape the experience for 2026.
One artist or collective will receive $4,000 to lead a free, drop-in activity in all four towns during the September 18 to October 4 festival. Projects must explore themes of home and belonging. Applications are due by 4pm March 30, with the chosen concept announced this spring.
🌟 Nominations Open For Youth Awards
Oakville is once again celebrating its young changemakers as nominations open for the third annual Oakville Youth Awards. Run by the Town and the Oakville Youth Action Committee, the awards honour residents aged 11 to 19 who are making a difference in leadership, arts, sports, environment, STEM, and community involvement. The nomination deadline is March 16.
Two winners in each category, one aged 11-14 and one 15-19, will be recognized at a May 7 celebration at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts. Last year drew more than 100 nominations, so congratulations in advance to this year’s inspiring nominees.

⛸️ Tyomkin Takes Silver Abroad

Art TyomkinSkate Canada / Danielle Earl
Oakville’s Art Tyomkin is bringing home hardware after a strong showing in Poland. The 13-year-old finished second in the Advanced Novice division at the 2026 Maria Olszewska Memorial, part of a dominant performance by Canadian skaters across the competition.
Tyomkin placed third after the short program with 40.99, then surged in the free skate with 76.35 for a total of 117.34 and a silver medal finish. Canadians swept the top four spots in his event, making this podium finish even sweeter. Congratulations, Art.
🏒 Misa Nets First OT Winner
Oakville’s Michael Misa delivered a milestone moment Sunday night, scoring the first overtime goal of his NHL career to lift the San Jose Sharks past the Winnipeg Jets. The 18-year-old burst through defenders and beat Connor Hellebuyck, sealing the win in highlight-reel fashion.
Misa now has 12 points in 21 games this season and four points in three games since the Olympic break. After injuries, scratches, and a World Juniors bronze, he looks settled in San Jose’s lineup. Not bad for Oakville’s rising star.
