BTRMLK, the London-born fried chicken spot that began as a pop up five years ago, is opening a new location in Oakville this spring. The team says strong demand from the GTA helped drive the move after building a loyal following for its comfort food.

The restaurant will open at 280 North Service Rd W, marking its first Oakville location and a big step beyond its original pop up roots. No opening date has been released yet, but keep an eye out for more news on this mouth watering spot.

Loyola Catholic Secondary School has opened what it says is Canada’s first high school esports arena. One of their former lecture halls has now been transformed into the St. Carlo Acutis Esports Arena, named after the Church’s first millennial saint, often called the patron saint of the internet.

The new space features high end gaming computers, broadcast technology, and multi use screens for both esports and STEAM learning like game design and AI. School leaders hope it becomes a hub for students, robotics teams, and future tech partnerships.

Oakvillegreen Conservation Association has launched its 2026 online native plant sale, giving Oakville residents a chance to add pollinator friendly plants to their gardens and balconies. The sale features native perennials that thrive in local conditions while helping birds, bees, and butterflies.

Since 2015, the program has helped bring thousands of native plants to local yards. Every purchase supports Oakvillegreen’s pollinator initiatives across the community. A garden that looks good and does good.

The 16th annual Breakfast Bash supporting Halton Food for Thought is set for May 12 at the Oakville Conference Centre. The fundraiser features breakfast bites from local spots including Joe Dog’s Gasbar Grill, Martini House, Rust BistroBar, Pur & Simple Burlington North, Appleby College, and Mary’s Muffins.

Organizers hope to raise $100,000 to help provide school nutrition programs for nearly 100,000 Halton students across more than 155 schools. With food costs rising and demand growing, every plate helps keep kids fueled for the school day.
