Burloak Indoor Golf's Summer Membership might be the best decision you make this season

For anyone serious about their game this summer, this one’s for you.

Twelve TrackMan simulators, a full short game area, a licensed restaurant, pool tables, a pro shop, on-site rehab, and one of the largest teams of PGA professionals in the country. It's a proper setup, and the Summer Membership means you can treat it like your own.

From May 1 through October 31, members get one hour of daily access to a TrackMan simulator and the short game area, plus additional time at just $20 per hour.

The Summer Membership is $1,100 for the season. If golf is a big part of your summer, make the most out of it at Burloak Indoor Golf.

Let’s work together.

Chick-fil-A Coming to Oakville? 🍗

A new Chick-fil-A location could be coming to Oakville, with plans filed for a site at Winston Churchill Boulevard and Dundas Street West.

The proposal would replace the existing Burger King with a new single-storey restaurant featuring a double drive-through, marking a potential first for the town if approved.

While the plaza draws shoppers from nearby Mississauga, the site itself sits within Oakville and would add a major new fast-food option locally. There’s no timeline yet and approval is still needed, but if it moves ahead, it would give Oakville its first taste of the popular chain, expect some long drive-thru lines if it happens.

Kara Mia Steakhouse Opens 🍝

Oakville’s dining scene has a new addition as Kara Mia Italian Steakhouse officially celebrated its grand opening on April 9, months after first opening in December.

The 4,000 square foot space blends Italian cuisine with a steakhouse menu, offering everything from handcrafted pastas to halal Angus steaks, along with ribs, salmon, and lamb chops in a polished, modern setting.

Owner Feroze Shaik says the concept aims to bring a fully halal Italian-inspired steakhouse experience to the GTA, with Oakville chosen to draw diners from across Halton and beyond.

This marks Kara Mia’s third location, joining Ottawa and Markham, with signature dishes like Fettuccine Kara Mia and Chicken Saffron leading the menu.

Election Nominations Open May 1 🗳️

Oakville is gearing up for its 2026 municipal election, with candidate nominations opening May 1 and running through August 20 at Town Hall.

Eligible residents can file in person with the Town Clerk, while third-party advertisers can also begin registering the same day. The next council term will run from November 15, 2026 to November 14, 2030, setting the stage for the town’s next four years of leadership.

For voters, key dates are already locked in, with advance voting scheduled for October 7-10 and 13-18, ahead of Election Day on October 26. Voter notices will arrive in early September, and residents are encouraged to confirm their registration details online.

With local decisions shaping everything from roads to development, Oakville’s next council race is officially underway.

Rotary Donation Fuels Erin’s Café ☕

Oakville Rotary Photo

The Rotary Club of Oakville has donated $40,000 to help launch Erin’s Café at ErinoakKids Centre in Oakville.

The café is designed to create meaningful employment opportunities for former ErinoakKids clients and others in the community living with disabilities, offering hands-on workplace experience in a supportive setting.

Leaders say the space will serve more than coffee, it will build confidence and job skills while welcoming the public with drinks and treats.

As Ontario’s largest children’s treatment centre expands its impact into employment, this initiative adds a practical next step for many young adults, a thoughtful boost for inclusive opportunities in Oakville, and a well-deserved congratulations to everyone involved.

Oakville Duo Eye U-18 Team 🏒

Two Oakville players are getting a shot on the international stage, with Dima Zhilkin and Lucas Ambrosio named to Hockey Canada’s U-18 pre-tournament camp ahead of the world championship in Slovakia starting April 22.

Both will travel with the initial 23-player group, though the final roster could still shift as junior playoffs wrap up.

Zhilkin heads in as a strong contender after a 75-point season with Saginaw and prior Team Canada experience, while Ambrosio looks to turn heads after a development year in Erie. With Canada chasing a third straight gold, Oakville will have a close eye on two of its own competing for a spot on hockey’s rising stage.
