📍 Nations Experience Coming to Oakville Place

Food Hall at Nations Experience Stockyards in Toronto
A major tenant shift is underway at Oakville Place as Nations Experience takes over the former Hudson’s Bay space with a 120,000 square foot flagship. Expected to open in 2027, the two-level destination will combine a full Nations Fresh Foods supermarket on the main floor with “Forever Young,” an indoor entertainment centre upstairs. It’s part of RioCan’s strategy to reposition the mall after Hudson’s Bay closed this past June.
Known for its multicultural grocery selection and family-focused entertainment, Nations already draws regional crowds to locations like Toronto’s Stockyards Village. Oakville’s diverse population and high density make it a prime fit for this growing “foodertainment” model. The deal was nearly a year in the making, highlighting the complexity of redeveloping aging department store sites.
🔔 Andrea’s Cookies Opening in Oakville

Toronto’s beloved Andrea’s Cookies is bringing its creative confections to Oakville this December, opening a new location at 270 Lakeshore Rd. E. Known for inventive flavours like white chocolate knafeh and butterscotch pretzel, the bakery first gained traction as an Instagram baking page in 2019 before expanding to three shops across Toronto.
The Oakville store’s opening date is still under wraps, but hiring is underway for bakers and front-of-house staff. Locals keen to join the team can apply by emailing resumes to [email protected]
🚫 Speed Cameras Shut Down in Oakville
Oakville has officially deactivated all 14 of its Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras following the provincial government's new law banning municipal speed cameras. The move, part of the Building a More Competitive Economy Act passed in October, took effect on November 14. While the cameras are being removed, tickets issued before that date still stand and must be paid or contested through the town’s regular process.
Despite the ASE shutdown, Oakville’s broader Neighbourhood Traffic Safety Program remains active, including traffic calming measures and pedestrian safety upgrades. An update on the program’s progress, including the short-lived ASE initiative, will be presented to Town Council on November 24.

🎁 GIVEOakville Campaign Now Underway

The Oakville Community Foundation has launched its annual GIVEOakville campaign, supporting over 65 local charities from November 14 to December 8. The online platform allows residents to donate directly to individual organizations, specific causes, or the overall GIVEOakville Fund, with no transaction fees and all donations staying within the community.
This year’s charities cover a wide range of needs, from mental health to food security and the arts. Now in its 10th year, the campaign continues to highlight the strength of Oakville’s charitable spirit, having raised over $4 million since its inception.
