🎉 New Playground Opens at Coronation Park!

x.com/townofoakville
Oakville’s Coronation Park playground is back and better than ever! After months of renovations, the new play areas are open for kids of all abilities. There’s a Junior Playground (ages 2-5) and a Senior Playground (ages 5-12) with cool features like a universal carousel, fairy tale seesaw, spinner bowls, and a sensory dome.
The upgraded rubber surface makes it safer, and new communication boards help kids express themselves. Plus, bright colours make everything easy to spot. Swing by and check out the fresh, inclusive space that’s designed for everyone to have fun together!
🏘️ 28 Townhouses Approved on Sixth Line!

Oakville council has approved 28 stacked townhouses at 1295 Sixth Line near White Oaks Secondary School. Each four-storey unit will have three bedrooms, two parking spots, and there will be seven visitor spaces. This plan replaces an earlier proposal for a six-storey, 70-unit apartment building that raised traffic concerns.
Some residents still worry about traffic, but a study found minimal impact. Town staff supported the project, saying it adds much-needed housing while fitting the neighbourhood. Council voted unanimously to move forward, calling it a smart way to provide new homes and support Oakville’s housing goals. Construction will transform the currently underused lot into family-friendly housing.

🏳️🌈 Pride Halton Grows to Day-Long Celebration!

Melanie Tremills and Matthew George | Steve LeBlanc/MiltonToday
Pride Halton is expanding to a full day of festivities on Sunday, July 20! After the 2 p.m. parade down Main Street, Pride in the Park will take over the Milton Fairgrounds from 3 to 8 p.m. with live music, South Asian dancers, a DJ, kids’ corner, beer garden, and over 50 vendors. PRISM founder Melanie Tremills said the event is “exceeding my hopes,” thanks to huge community support and growing sponsorship.
Local leaders, including mayors and MPs, are set to attend, and businesses like Metrolinx are promoting the event for free. The weekend kicks off with a drag show and vendor market Saturday evening. Organizers hope the expanded celebration brings even more people together to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in Oakville and Halton.
