Over 55 local vendors will set up shop at Spruce Lane Farm for the second annual Crafters Market on Saturday, Oct. 4. The event runs from 8am to dusk inside Bronte Creek Provincial Park.

Seven Oakville hockey players are hitting the ice at NHL rookie camps this week, showing just how strong the town’s hockey roots run. Calum Ritchie and Isaiah George are skating with the Islanders, while Nick Lardis and Harrison Israels are at camp with the Blackhawks.

Ritchie stands out after a big season with the Oshawa Generals, scoring 70 points in 47 games. A strong showing could earn him a shot at the NHL this year.

Oakville’s Michael Misa has signed a three-year NHL contract with the San Jose Sharks after being picked second overall in the 2025 draft. He can now play for the Sharks this season if he earns a spot at training camp later this month.

Last year, Misa led the CHL with 134 points and was named OHL Player of the Year. If he returns to junior hockey, he could also play for Team Canada at the World Juniors.
