Ring the Dinner Bell! 🛎️

The Dinner Club tables are filling up fast, and we could not be more excited!

We are going to take over downtown Oakville, filling up multiple restaurants with strangers who will become friends by the end of the night. And don’t forget about the afterparty, bringing everyone together at the end. 🍻

You don’t want to miss it.

Temple Expansion Approved 🏗️

Ruth Victor & Associates provided concept art for an expanded Oakville Sikh Cultural Association facility at 2403 Khalsa Gate

Oakville council has approved plans to expand the Oakville Sikh Cultural Association temple at 2403 Khalsa Gate.

The proposal includes a 2,012-square-metre addition to the existing building, along with a small separate structure for maintenance equipment. The goal is to make room for the temple’s growing congregation.

Parking is also part of the plan. The updated site would include 231 parking spaces plus 12 bicycle spots.

Some nearby residents had concerns earlier this year about noise, lighting, snow storage, and privacy. Town staff say many of those details will be handled during the upcoming site plan process, where things like lighting design and property layout still need approval.

New Park Plans In Uptown 🌳

A new park is on the way in uptown Oakville, and the town wants residents to help shape it.

Riverstone Park will be built along Trafalgar Road between Riverstone Drive and Rosegate Way. The space is about 0.65 hectares and is planned as a new neighbourhood green space for the growing community.

Public input will guide the design. An in-person meeting is set for March 26 at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre from 7 to 9 p.m., where staff will present the project and gather feedback on possible park features.

An online questionnaire will also run from March 27 to April 10, and construction is currently expected to begin in April 2027.

An Olympic Thank You ⛸️

Two Olympic champions are giving Oakville a special shoutout.

Japanese pair skaters Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara recently thanked the town on social media after winning gold at the 2026 Winter Olympics. The duo has trained in Oakville for the past seven years with Skate Oakville at the Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.

In their message, the skaters said the rink and the welcoming community made the town feel like a second home. They believe that environment played a role in their journey to Olympic gold.

Their win was also historic, marking Japan’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in pairs figure skating. Their message. 👇

Oakville Swimmers Excel🏊

Oakville Aquatic Club swimmers had a huge weekend at the 2026 Ontario Age Group Championships. The team set three new provincial records and 11 club records while competing against some of the top programs in the province.

In the 14-and-under division, Oakville captured the overall team title with 4,919.5 points, finishing well ahead of Markham Aquatic Club and Toronto Swim Club. The club also placed third overall in the 15-and-over competition.

Individually, Vasyl Krupynin set new provincial records in the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke. Another record came in the boys 11–12 medley relay, where four Oakville swimmers combined for a record-breaking swim.
