DINNER CLUB 🍽️

Our first Dinner Club is officially in the books and we’re doing it again.

Last time, 70 Oakville locals met over dinner across a handful of downtown spots, with everyone coming together after for a shared afterparty. We heard so many stories of great conversations, new friendships, and people trying restaurants they hadn’t been to before.

Our next Dinner Club is happening Thursday, April 23 at 6:30PM, and we’d love to have you there.

Recap of how it works:
You’ll start by filling out a quick quiz about your interests and food preferences. We use that to match you with a small group of 5–6 people at a downtown Oakville restaurant. On the day of, you’ll get your invite with the location. After dinner, everyone’s welcome to join the optional afterparty to keep things going.

The booking fee is $15.99 per seat, you pay for your own meal at the end of dinner

If that sounds like your kind of evening, grab a seat at the table.

Salmon Penning This Weekend 🐟

A hands-on conservation tradition is back in Bronte this weekend, as the Halton Region Salmon and Trout Association hosts its 9th annual Chinook Salmon Penning Event this Saturday, April 11.

Starting at 12pm at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, families can take part in releasing young salmon into the harbour as part of a local stocking program.

The free event offers a chance to get up close with the process while learning how these efforts support salmon populations in Lake Ontario. Expect a lively waterfront atmosphere with plenty of volunteers, curious kids, and buckets of fish ready to go. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday by the lake.

70 Earth Day Clean Up Sites 🌱

Oakville’s largest community clean-up effort is set to return on Saturday, April 18, with more than 70 sites across town taking part.

Organized by the Oakville Community Centre for Peace, Ecology and Human Rights, the event runs 9-11am at parks, trails, ravines, and lakefront areas, with coordinators on hand to guide volunteers and provide supplies.

The annual effort continues to draw strong turnout, with 1,477 volunteers collecting 896 bags of waste last year alone. Participants are encouraged to bring their own gloves and tools, and students can earn community service hours.

A solid way to kick off spring while giving Oakville’s green spaces a much-needed refresh.

Upcoming Senior Services Fair 📋

Older adults and their families are invited to connect, learn, and try something new at Oakville’s Senior Services Information Fair on April 24.

The event runs 10am-1pm at the Iroquois Ridge Older Adults Centre, bringing together town staff, local service providers, and vendors focused on supporting older residents.

Visitors can explore programs offered through Town of Oakville Senior Services, take part in 50+ “Try it” sessions, and meet organizations offering specialized services. There will also be space to relax, chat, and enjoy refreshments, making it an easy way to spend a few hours while discovering what’s available around town.

Oakville Youth Awards Nominees 🏆

Oakville is getting ready to celebrate its next generation of leaders, with more than 150 young residents nominated for the 2026 Youth Awards.

Hosted by the Town of Oakville alongside the Oakville Youth Action Committee, the event takes place May 7 at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, wrapping up National Youth Week with a red carpet-style celebration.

The evening will feature live music, presentations, and stories highlighting local youth making a difference in areas like leadership, creativity, and community service.

All nominees will receive certificates, with winners recognized on stage, and the event will also be livestreamed for families at home. A well-earned spotlight for a group that keeps raising the bar across Oakville, congratulations to all nominated.
